Big Enough

Last night, my heart felt heavy. I was overwhelmed by the needs of this world and the deep reminder of how much people need Jesus. As I laid down to sleep, I found myself praying for nations, leaders, broken families, and hurting hearts. The weight of the world felt like it was pressing on me.

Part of me began to feel guilty... like my own prayers for myself, my husband, my children, and our situation were “too small” compared to the pain and chaos around us. But in that moment, the Lord gently reminded me... He is big enough.

God is big enough to hold the weight of the world and still care about the details of my life. He is big enough to heal nations and still wipe away my tears at night. He is big enough to carry both global burdens and personal struggles.

Scripture reminds us, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Not just the “big” things. All things. Jesus Himself told us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). And Paul declared, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

I’ve been learning to know God as Abba Father, my heavenly Dad. Unlike my earthly father, who gave and cared for me the best way he knew how, my Abba Father is limitless. He is big enough to father the world and yet personal enough to hold me in His arms. Last night, I fell asleep with peace, resting like a daughter safe in her Father’s embrace. Why? Because God is big enough.

Prayer:

Abba Father, thank You that You are big enough to hold the weight of this world and still hold me close. Forgive me when I feel guilty for bringing You my own needs. Remind me that You care about both the global and the personal, the large and the small. I lay down every burden tonight, big or small, and trust that You are more than enough. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
